At Gerritsen Group, we believe that heavy, industrial transport does not need to come at the expense of the environment. That’s why we have made, and continue to make, substantial investments in our fleet to move us closer to a future of 100% electric or lowest-possible-emission transport, both for internal operations and road transport, even when carrying out heavy and exceptional transport assignments.
New heavy-transport tractors: efficiency meets responsibility
In October 2025 we introduced two new Volvo FH Aero heavy-transport tractors into our fleet. These are not ordinary trucks, they come with an 8×4-chassis, a heavy-transport slider plate and a custom component frame behind the cab, enabling us to handle large-scale transports (e.g. boilers, industrial installations, exceptional loads) with our usual professionalism.
We understand that heavy transport poses challenges for electrification, but by modernizing our fleet and adopting state-of-the-art trucks, we are reducing emissions and fuel consumption even within the constraints of heavy/exceptional loads. Modernizing the fleet is only part of the story. At Gerritsen Group we believe every person in our organization plays a role in reducing environmental impact. Our drivers, planners and project teams are trained and encouraged to drive and operate as efficiently as possible, from smart route planning to careful load management, from smooth driving styles to maintaining vehicles in top condition.
